Supplementary Security Income

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal program that provides financial support for low income individuals with disabilities. If the individual is a child, the family’s income becomes the eligibility criteria. SSI comes with a Medicaid card. Although Medicaid is a federal program, it is state specific.
